In the 1950’s, a disease called the Panama Disease all but wiped out an entire species of banana which motivated farmers to use the Cavendish banana which we all eat today. The bananas we eat are actually all cloned from a single banana plant in southeast Asia which means that every single banana is exactly the same banana.

Bananas are a  favourite around the world. It tastes good, it’s high in potassium, and it’s delicious when placed in a dish with ice cream and chocolate syrup. It is also the most interesting fruit in the world.

When our cherries are in they are amazing especially when we have the ones from from Kent. The UK season is notoriously short – from mid-June to mid-September, with late-season cherries coming from Scotland.

We also have our own branded chutneys, jams and sweets.

Our amazing popular local Sussex honey is a must try, the bee hives are literally in the fields opposite our shop so very local

WHY IS LOCAL HONEY GOOD FOR YOU?

Because many types of bacteria can't survive in honey, it speeds up healing, diminishes swelling, and gives tissue the opportunity to grow back more quickly. Local, raw honey helps tame the stomach flu. Because raw honey calms the inflammation of the stomach, it is a great pain reliever for the stomach flu.
